Not at all what I expected. They had DJ Debris playing music from all over the map. One song would be rap, the next was opra. Waitress was "lost" for most of our visit. I had ordered a refill on my beer and she forgot it on three trips back to our table. Sad since it was only our table and the table next to us that she was waiting on.

I read some of the reviews and they were hit and miss. So I decided to give it a try. Plus with it being an odd hour they wouldn't be too busy. We went in and they were all very nice. The beer selection was a bit lacking. So we ordered and right after we ordered my mom decided to change her order to what I ordered. We went and asked the bartender right away since our waiter was busy with another customer. Anyways the bartender listened to make sure he understood the new order and went back to tell them the order change. The order came out perfectly. Now a days that is really good. I cab hardly ever get an order I place brought to me correctly. The waiter was really in the ball and very attentive to our needs. Making sure our drinks were always filled or bringing out extra condiments for us. Just quality through and through. We both ordered the Pirates platter. The snapper that comes with it was the freshest I've had anywhere. The food was cooked perfectly. Not at all greasy just cooked really well and properly. The reason for not giving it 5 stars is that they don't accept Discover card and that's pretty much all we use. We were disappointed about that. Thankfully we had a Master Card with us. Also on the menu they recommended Yungeling Ale, which I ordered and they didn't have. They also didn't have regular Sam Adams on tap. All in all a good place to get lunch at. Just don't bring your discover card. They need a sign telling people they don't.

This place is a convenient location and attracts the few younger people you'll find in the Villages. However it could use a few improvements. We ate outside and they have a great outdoor patio area, the cover and the fans will keep you cool during the hottest of weather so you can still enjoy the outdoors. The inside is okay but does have some pool tables. The beer selection was depressing, they do have their own brew that is similar to Yueingling but nothing special. I had a raspberry margarita which came out frozen solid and tasted lousy until it melted a bit and everything mixed back up. The gyro was surprisingly good and the service was amazingly quick. I seriously think they microwaved it with how quick it came out but it didn't taste microwaved. Probably the fastest I've ever gotten a cooked dish after ordering at any restaurant ever. And even though we were the only ones outside most of the time the waitress gave us constant attention, excellent service. Add some more beers and a better selection of appetizers (very few things appealed to us and we really wanted to just have apps) and you got yourself a solid joint. Also get rid of the $3 charge for sharing, not only is it cheap but I can guarantee you it keeps a lot of villagers away from your establishment. Oh, one other thing make sure you keep your menu and actual prices for your items the same. Putting a disclaimer that seafood may be more if prices go up is pretty lame. And charging me an extra 50 cents for a 7 dollar drink is pretty lame because I wanted it frozen.

We ate on the patio on a Wednesday. They have sort of an island theme menu. We had burgers, and key west coconut shrimp. Burger was ok, nothing to write home about. The coconut shrimp was a little over cooked, on the dark side and the batter was on heavy. The fries were limp, I expect bad fries from a dive fast food place, but a full service restaurant? I did try their version of a raspberry margarita, this was suppose to be top shelf, but it lacked flavor and seemed watered down for a blended drink. I won't be going out of my way for this place or The Villages again.

Cool location, just stopped here to have a couple beers and ended up eating diner. The biggest thing this place has going for it is that it is across the street from The Villages town center. Food, drinks, building, it is all very average. Nothing stands out to make it different. Not that its bad but there are a number of these chain restaurants around here, all just as good. Worth trying but wont go out of my way to return.

Food nothing special, service below average. Would not eat here again! A Waste of money for what you get.

On Friday, January 16th, we went to Margarita Republic where my husband ordered a beer and I ordered a mojito, which tasted like water, flat club soda and mint - my husband agreed. We told our server it wasn't drinkable, asked her to take it back and bring me a glass of wine instead. She took the drink to the manager and returned telling us there "was no refund on drinks". We had not paid for it and we told her we didn't want a refund, we simply were not going to pay for it. She insisted there was no way to take it off the bill. We asked to see the manager, (we were told her name was Tina, but they would not give us her last name). Tina eventually came to our table wanting to "know what the problem was". We repeated the story. She became angry and rude telling us that we "had to pay for it" and it was not her fault we didn't like it. We explained again it was not that we didn't like it, it was undrinkable. She didn't offer to remake the drink, bring me something else or any other courtesy. Instead she insisted it was company policy (no refund on drinks), so we asked to speak to someone in the company. Her words were "I am the company and I don't have the authority". She glared at us and walked away. Within a few seconds, the server brought the bill to our table, saying the manager "told me to give you this". We never received the drink back and yet it was still on the bill. My husband asked the server to ask the manager to return, but she did not. At that point, we decided to leave our food and drinks, pay the bill and never, ever return to this restaurant. As we were at the register, the manager walked up and said "what's going on". She was told we were paying our bill. With that she walked away. It is inexcusable and unacceptable to treat customers as we were treated. As a service industry employee, she should have apologized, removed the drink from our bill and thanked us for being a customer. Instead she was rude, angry and belligerent. As Lifestyle Preview guests, we found many wonderful restaurants in the Villages who treat their customers with respect and ensure that the quality of their food and drink is good. Shame on the owners for allowing this employee, Tina, to ruin a guest's experience. I can bet we weren't the first to be repulsed by her attitude, tone and unwillingness to make things right. I've mentioned this incident to many others that we've met here, and they were equally shocked and disgusted by this employee's behavior. We hope "the company" will take appropriate and immediate action to ensure that this employee, Tina, does not treat others as we were treated.

Jennifer was a curt and very slow waitress. Had to wait 15 minutes for chips and salsa. Only four others in restaurant. Got twice as many chips as needed for amount of salsa and never offered a refill. Won't go there again. Should have read review first! Go across the street to luiginos excellent everything there

The shrimp po-boy was definitely poor. The shrimp was iodiney and there were only five. The wilted lettuce was sparse and the few chopped tomatoes were inadequate. All of this was served on an under done brown and serve 5 in sub roll with a few drops of remolaude sauce. All for $9.00! This was preceded by "fresh" conch fritters which were not, and they were mushy, but "only" $7.00. My wife's burger was edible. We will not be back. But they probably won't be there much longer anyway. To add insult to injury they did not accept Discover. I guess they are also behind the times.

My family and I went here for some drinks and dinner, my father and brother ordered two different type margaritas. They both were terrible, one tasted like water and the other tasted like pure sour mix. We told the waitress that they weren't good and she said," sorry, we can't do anything about it, we don't take back any drinks"?!? What?!? These $8 margaritas are terrible and you won't refund them for another drink. Mind you, there was one sip out of both of them. We asked for the manager who proceeded to first make herself a margarita at the bar and walk over and say "it's because it was at the bottom of the sour mix", not sure how that makes one of the drink watery? We asked if they could just have beers in case the next ones were just as bad. She was extremely rude and sarcastic towards us. She did end up giving us beers, but we would never go here again or recommend it. We also left and didn't order food.

Could be better - could be worse. A decent drink menu and some of the specialty dishes are quite good. The atmosphere varies from outdoor seating overlooking the Spanish Springs center square to indoor tables in a usually noisy setting.

Despite the name, this place features a Carribean themed menu. I had their blackened mahi mahi tacos at the suggestion of the bartender...they were served with a heaping helping of homemade refried beans (they were better than that just sounded) and some rice. Service was great. Overall, a-o-k.

We sat down and asked for a couple Sam Adams from the menu and the waitress said that they weren't available and that they shouldn't be on the menu. So we settled for a Yuengling. We ordered chips and salsa which were stale. I ordered the Gyro which came out with cucumber sauce a tiny bit of lettuce. I would have expected onions and tomatoes. Very bland. The fries weren't very good. My father had the fried Alligator tail which he enjoyed. We were done eating and about halfway done with our beers, when the waitress brought our check and said nothing. Never asked if we wanted dessert or another beer or if we enjoyed dinner. Food below average, menu not accurate and the service was very poor.

We were there last night - Norman Lee was the early entertainment. Loud music but that is the entertainer - he is there most every Monday night. We had burgers - very good, cooked to order, and draft beer was good and cold.

Great place for food, drinks and atmosphere. Service was great and food was delicious. Wide variety on the menu gives everyone what they are looking for. Happy hour during the week. Love this place!!

So my father wanted Mexican food and my mother and I did not want to correct him that it was touted as Caribbean but he learned soon enough. The sangria was the best part of the meal. The kids menu which I was happy it existed, ended up being mac and cheese from the box, lovely! Their fries were awful. My shrimp tacos were so salty. They prepared with a remoulade sauce then basically salted the taco after the fact. The $18 dinner with fish, scallops and shrimp was not impressive for the value. The flavors appeared to be good in that meal though. Burger was dry. I was a bit disappointed but should have checked the reviews before we chose it. The refried beans were very dry. My boyfriend said we should have saved time on refrying the beans!

Staff was excellent but the food is just BARELY adequate. Decor is like a country western bar save 3 blue fish mounted on the wall. Margarita Republic should be a FUN place...nope not this place. Boring. This could be a money making corner and they just don't care to do better. But again our server Jessalyn was EXCELLENT.

Service was good and we sat outside and listened to music. Food was slow and overpriced. The fried seafood tasted like Long John Silver.

Over priced to me. We when late and people say to kids show up late here. What we saw was amazing it turned into club for young people. Music , dancing and plasic mixed drink cups. Our diner before the party . Was just not good for overpriced food. We stayed and spend even more money people watching to club screen. Plasic cups we down 3 mixed drinks apiece. Would not go back. Owner making great money. With little effort. Dj and kids dance bar to me.

This is a popular "trivia game" restaurant with lots of teams having lots of fun while having dinner. Trivia was fun . . . but don't go for the food. Since we hadn't been to this restaurant in years, I ordered my usual "test dish", fish and chips. Firstly, it took over 30 minutes for plates to arrive after ordering. It is possible that our orders sat on the prep counter for most of that time because the pollock was cold, dried out and very greasy. Fries could not have been worse - overcooked to the point of being almost burned, cold and hard as sticks of wood. Coleslaw was OK. Wife ordered nachos and said it was OK but nothing special. Service was OK except for the long wait for orders to arrive - which, of course, may not have been the server's fault.

We stopped in for appetizers and drinks on a rainy afternoon. There was a sign that said to seat ourselves outside, but we had to go in after about 10 minutes to ask about service. Our waitress Mandi then came right out, and she was great. I had nachos with taco meat, and they were a good snack. They had liquid cheese like at a ballpark, which I enjoy, but it might not be for everyone. My dad had the Bang Bang shrimp, and there were a lot of them. He loves them. My husband had the gyro, which he also really liked. The drinks were good also and packed a decent punch. Is definitely go back.
